Company Description
The Mid-Columbia Ballet (MCB) is a nonprofit corporation, incorporated in the State of Washington and is a tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Its mission is to foster and advance the art of ballet in its various forms in the Mid-Columbia region. MCB is managed by a Board of Directors as required by Washington Administrative Code (RCW 24.03.095). The MCB Guild is responsible for managing volunteers and does a signficant amount of fundraising for the organization.
MCB consists of a Senior, Apprentice, Trainee, and Junior Company made up of young dancers committed to the art of ballet. MCB's repertoire includes classical, neoclassical, and modern works by choreographers from throughout the United States. MCB has been granted performance rights to several Balanchine works by the George Balanchine Trust. Guest artists from such celebrated companies as American Ballet Theatre, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Kirov Ballet, and the Bolshoi Ballet have performed with the Company. Our dancers have gone on to professional dance careers, most notably, former MCB dancer and Pacific Northwest Ballet principal, Patricia Barker.
MCB is under the artistic direction of Debra Pearse Rogo.
