Reiki (pronounced RAY key) is an ancient form of hands-on healing, with direction by the Mind that created and maintains the universe. This energy flows through 20 body positions, where your body draws the energy in. The energy affects the client's physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects, as well as their relationships and circumstances. The Reiki breaks down energy blockages so that they dissolve and the client's energy flows are freed to heal by their own natural processes. The client remains fully clothed throughout, except the shoes and coat.

As an example, you may be feeling a need to improve your spirituality. We do a treatment and within a few days (possibly immediately) you feel lighter and more connected to the Universal Source. You keep your eyes out for reading or other materials that increase awareness and connection in your form of spirituality. You may want to see a pastor, priest, shaman or other spiritual leader to help design a response to your need. You may even go online and find something you're looking for. If your treatment with me seems to have a strong enough positive effect, you may want to continue with those.

Or maybe you feel depressed and would like a lifting of your mood. We do a treatment and you feel a little better, even if it seems due only to the warm touch and attention of my hands, and the relaxing music. You may in time notice a more pronounced lifting of your feelings and outlook. You keep your eyes out for literature on overcoming depression, and maybe see a talk therapist or a psychiatrist or psychologist. Sometimes medication is needed to treat depression, in which case you would need the psychiatrist, or a psychiatric nurse practitioner. If you notice a strong enough improvement in your mood from your treatment with me, you may want to continue with those. If your depression brings you to thoughts of harming yourself or anyone else, call a suicide prevention hotline.

My office is set in Sunnyslope at 1675 Sunset Dr. (see directions below), with beautiful, tranquil views of hillside homes, lands, orchards and rugged peaks. I serve juice and have excellent books and magazines about Reiki to browse. I work with relaxing music. I also teach a free half-hour Reiki class on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday at 7 pm, open to all. Note-taking is welcome.

If you have your doctor's referral to me, your insurance will probably cover your treatment. If no referral, I will place a claim to your insurance company and some will cover you
others will not.
